So, this is the beginning?
Here we go…
I have struggled to put my writings out in the open for everyone to see, judge, and comment on. So what is prompting me to leap out into the great unknown? It's not confidence because I certainly haven't mastered all of my underlying insecurities. It's not my desire to be famous or become a well-known blogger, influence, or whatever they are called these days, and It's not because I am looking for some way to throw out my opinions to the world publicly. It is simple. I feel that I need to step out of my comfort zone if I want to continue to grow in my personal, professional, and private life.
Who is PJS?
So, this is the beginning, the start of something strange. This is the beginning of a coming of age story about a girl who feels that the odds are against her. This is also the story of how this girl will overcome and change everyone's outlook on her with her words, style, and addicting qualities. Let's start by telling you who she is... Usually, I would describe myself using a metaphor for who I am and the journey that I am going on. But, I will start by saying I am Precious Javon Scott. I am currently a Senior in college who is just returning to school after a semester break. A student that is a major in Mass Communication emphasis on Mass Media.
After…
Having a couple of internships during her semester hibernation, she has discovered that she doesn't want to work in an office setting in the future. But, she wants to work in a collaborative and creative environment that forces everyone to work as a team, share opinions, and, most importantly, share laughs. So you ask her what she wants to be when she finally finishes University? Usually, She would say: "I want to be a reporter at a local news station, or I want to be a creative director at a major marketing firm or, the big one, I want to own a business!" Although all of those things are super cool, she wants to be apart of a team and an environment that shares the same morals, goals, and framework as herself. That might seem as if she doesn't know what she wants to do, which, honestly, you are correct. There is no argument with you there. She's a little lost, but everyone knows that she has time to develop into what is for me.
Enough of that, I just wanted to give you a little bit of background before I jump into my wonderful (sarcasm) life as a 21-year-old African American Female in a world that demands everything but can only be given friction of it. So, be prepared for I have warned you, and there is no way that you can go back after you entered the life of Precious Javon Scott.
Signing off,
PJS
